Help with purchase of bicycle, narrowed down to three (hybrid) please?
I am trying to decide between 3 different bicycles…
First choice is the Cannondale Adventure 4 for $450.
Second is the Specialized Crossroads Elite for $480.
Third is the Trek 7200 for $480.
If you could tell me which you would choose and why I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
The price of the Trek 7200 may be wrong.
Cannondale is an American company, the other two outsource their labor to other countries. Cannondale is also a great bike, I have not idea what that other user is talking about.
Also I know that you said that these were your options, but you could get a bike that was just as good for less from a different company. Try: Raleigh, Giant, or I commute to work on a Jamis Explorer, that I love.

true story, the price of that 7200 is wrong the MSRP: on it is 459.99
anyways, trek makes a great bike, i don’t know a whole lot about specialized or cannondale, but i do know that trek is great when it comes to customer service. as long as the shop you buy from is good with customer service. trek also has lifetime warranty on their frames. trek also has great features on the 7200. the adjustable steam, a shock in the seat post and in the front fork, toped with a alivio rear derailleur. not top of the line, but none the less a great bike. a great bang for your buck!

Between those 3 choices (none of which I would choose) the Specialized is the better option. Avoid the Cannondale like the plague.
EDIT: mtbat… The only thing that Cannondale makes in the US is their high end frames. Many of their frames, and indeed entire bikes, come from China and Vietnam. Even those bike built here have parts sourced from overseas.

I would get the Trek. I’ve ridden Trek’s for years and they are opening Trek specific concept stores in most major markets, so you can get help from mechanics and staff that know that product line deeply as opposed to a local bike store that sells 4 different lines. You can go to the Trek site to see if there’s a concept store near you.
